Hi I've tried to install vista from usb but i cant what's the best way to do it??

I've tried using the cmd.exe then selecting the usb volume but it wont let me make my usb active to allow me to create a partition

please help

In case your wondering why I want to do this its because I have a Acer Aspire L3600 desktop its a tiny thing and the cd rom drive is knackered so without doing it by usb there's no other way without shelling out for a new part

Hi guys I was just going to put vista on it as thats what it had on and i've got a COA for it. But was wanting to check everything works ok on it before ordering the dvd rom drive

try the clean command several times. Also right click my computer in teh start menu and go to manage and then click the disk manager to make sure you are selecting the correct disk number. You don't want to go wiping a secondary hdd or anything.

Use Winrar and extract the windows iso file to files, if coming from disc just copy the entire contents of the dvd on to the usb drive, but only after you have made it bootable as per the instructions.
