I currently have a 100% working Windows XP on my harddrive using SATA.

I was thinking of removing this Hard Drive and putting in my old spare IDE HD and install Vista on that and just see what its like.

Will there be any issues when I stick my Windows XP hard-disk back into my system??????

I dont want to bugger anything up :)

No, no issues will be found when doing this. Happy "Vistaring"

could i install vista on my xp rig but on a different partition?i dont know how to do this but is it possible?

With the price of HDD's being so cheap why not buy another and install on that. If things go t!ts up you can just format that drive and your C: drive will be safe.

Or alternatively you could just download the Virtual PC 2007 demo from Microsoft (or any other virtualisation software that supports Vista) and have the same for...erm, free!!
