Hi i have just bought vista and am installing it soon as i get a query out the way. I have 8gb of ram, do i remove three sticks and install it with one stick then install all the updates from ms. Then do i install my other 3 sticks? is this correct and does it matter which slot the stick is in ? Thanks.

Sometimes you get errors installing with more than one stick of RAM but you can try it and see.
Your copy of Vista should be SP1 so I believe that solved the problem.
Also it is best to hook up just the drive you are installing the OS on at first and once your system is up and running install the rest of the HDD's

Thanks brian i am using Xp and want to keep this as a dual boot setup so should i just disconnect this until i have installed Vista on new drive then? cheers.

You can do if you want, its what i did when i installed the Win 7 beta.

I just disconnected my XP drive in case it messed up (as Vista/Win 7 creates a boot file on it so you can select which one to load, but if it messes up you have to do a repair), and installed the Win 7 beta onto my second drive, then i just reconnected my XP drive once i got WIn 7 installed, and so all i have to do to boot into either XP or Win 7, is to use my motherboards boot menu instead, so when i start my PC up, i just press F12 to get the boot menu, then i just select either my XP or Wn 7 drive to boot. :)
