I hope this is in the right section.

Im having a problem installing windows vista 64bit, well the problem is not installing it but its taking forever. One of my recent changed is that I got 2 new hard drives (from ocuk) and have them on a raid 0 setup, only since i set them up in a raid am i having problems. I checked both the hard drives andboth pass the sea tools short and long tests as well as smart test, so i dont think one of the drive are failing. Also once I do get windows installed and all the drivers its locks up for like 3/4 secons at a time as if its having problems so I used hd tach to see what kind of speeds im getting and im getting around 165ms responce time. Ive also checked all the sata cables and even replaced them but still no difference.

Can anyone shed some light on my problem?

Asus P5q-E
4GB Dominator 8500 (stock)
E8400 (stock)
GFX8800 (stock)

P.S my friend has an identical setup to me, inc the same hard drives and he is having no problems what so ever. hes even getting 12ms responce time through hdtach.

Thanks in advance.

Oh I think it is one of the hard drives, it now keeps failing. and it breaks the raid and when booting it comes up "(Type/Status: error Occured (0)" but it passes the tests, how do i explain that?

seems to be the hard drive, I got yet another two from ocuk again and similar problems, one started clunking at the start but now is quiet and seems to be workign but a tad slow. I reinstalled windows again, doesnt take half as long in all fairness but the random seek is 30ms which is pathetic.
