Installing win7 64bit over 32bit ?

Hi,

I want to upgrade my windows7 ultimate 32bit to 64bit. Can I do it just by inserting the 64 bit disc and just "over-install" it on the current windows 7 32bit ? What I mean is that I don't want to boot the windows from the dvd... I just want to log on to my current one and then just install it by inserting the 64bit version dvd.

im pretty sure you cant install 64 bit over 32 bit, a clean install would be better

not possible. a clean install is the only way.
