Installing Win7 - Clean Install advice

My daughter's Dell Inspiron is currently running Vista HP 64 bit. I also have the disks that came with it:
Vista HP SP1 64 Bit Reinstallation CD
Dell Windows7 Upgrade Assistant
Dell Windows7 Upgrade disk (64 bit) with a product key

Should I use these or, as they are 3 years old would I be better downloading an image file from somewhere?

Either way, it would be nice to do a clean install. How would I do that?

The key MIGHT not work with Standard Windows 7 Media as it's a dell one.

I would, however, try. Just download a standard Windows 7 64 Bit ISO and try.

To clean install just boot from the CD, delete any existing partitions and install away.

I have always installed installed using my own media.

One thing that may fail is the activation over the net, using the telephone service worked fine.
