Hi there,
I just finished building my new pc.

Anyway, I put in the Win7 disk, got to the install menu, put in the RAID drivers (im running RAID 0 and the MB disk came with drivers), and press install.

The installation goes through Step 1 ("Copying windows files") almost instantly, and then sits on step 2 ("Expanding windows files") at 0% indefinitely until it tells me that nothings happening and that it is going to cancel install.

Here is my build:

I dont have Vista and i doubt XP is going to let me copy the RAID drivers from my USB Flash Drive.
Ill try disabling RAID, but does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks for the replies,
I am indeed using 64bit, and although i havnt done any checking, I did make another burn at 1x write speed.

Downloading the new drivers now, ill let you know how it turns out :)

Also, there are 2 types of port on my MB - SATA or GSATA. im using the SATA ports as they are the Ich10r (?) controlled ports. Would it be worth trying the GSATA ports?

Hmm, still no luck.

I have tried:
1.)Latest Drivers
2.)Only using 1 RAM stick
3.)Checking connections
4.)Installing without any drivers
5.)talking very nicely to the machine

With all of the above, exactly the same thing happens. It goes through step one (copying windows files) in less than a second. Then it sits at 0% on expanding files indefinitely.
Somethings wrong there, surely it shouldnt go through the copying step so quickly?

Next thing to do is try without RAID, though I dont see the point as I want to use RAID eventually anyway.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help everyone, its working now :)

In the end I switched off RAID and reset the BIOS to the OCUK profile, then turned RAID back on again and it worked :)

Umm, there are 2 ports you can RAID through,
SATA ports, and GSATA ports.

"Apparently" SATA ports are better, because they are controlled by Intel Drivers.
GSATA use some other method (JMicron?) and I dont think they need drivers.

From trawling google, seems that most people prefer the standard SATA ports but say the 2 are practically identical in terms of speed.
