I'm downloading Windows 7 in preperation for the PC i've ordered to build which comes tomorrow.

I was initially just going to go for Linux and use Open Office but figured i'd try Windows 7 first for free and see what I think.
The Question, do I have to burn the ISO file to a DVD? Or can I just put it on a CD?
I never burn DVDs but I do have some spare CDs so thought i'd ask before i trail down to the shop and buy a pack of blank DVDs for nothing.

The second question:

If i work on a word/excel document in Open Office, could I then continue this on Microsoft word/excel?
Work PC used XP and I work on the same documents at Home and at Work.

I'd have just googled all of this but i'm at work and every site i try just blocks me, so it's easier to ask here.

Thanks

Ok thanks guys. Man, I already knew the file size so what the hell did I ask that for?
That's what happens when you do something like that early in the morning I guess!!

I have a drive large enough so should be able to use that method and if for whatever reason I can't i'll use IMGburn as suggested and just get a blank DVD.

That's good about Open Office then. I hear good things about Windows 7 so i'll probably just stick with it but at least I know if i use Linux and Open Office that my documents are compatible.

Mind you, I have to build the PC first and going off how idiotic I was regarding the 4GB file and asking if I can put it on a CD then who knows how that will go!!
