I am RMA-ing my Clevo p170EM due to the Enduro gfx driver throttling issue with the HD7970M. I am very interested in going for this instead:

Looks great, but there is one thing that causes me concern. Windows 8!

Now obviously, I would install a copy of Windows 7 on it as soon as I received the laptop. However, I seem to remember having problems in the past with getting XP to work on Laptops/PCs that came with Vista pre-installed as the manufacturers didn't supply drivers compatible with the previous operating system.

Any MSI laptop owners know what the ins and outs of this issue would be and if I would likely encounter any difficulties?

nothing on this laptop is out of the ordinary so don't think that there should be any problems with it. You can always go ahead and later if needed reverse back (usually 1st time u will run lappy will ask you to do back-up etc)

Don't forgot your Cashback on TopCashBack or quidco :)

Can you go to MSIs website now and download the win7 drivers in readiness?

I've not long got an Alienware (in sig) with win8 and it runs so fast and smooth, and after a couple of weeks I'm used to it now, to the point an older OS feels alien to me (pun not intended), could you just try it for a month and see?
