I'm getting an SSD and I want to install a fresh Windows 7 onto it. What is the best way to go about removing the product key from my current HD so I can use it on the new SSD?

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7759642/reset-windows-activation-remove-license-key Would this work?

I've been having problems activating it since I used to reformat a lot and had to phone Microsoft's automated phone system to reset my key but sometimes this doesn't work. I'm only wanting it activated on one drive at one time so it is perfectly legal.

Anything else I need to know about setting up an SSD as I've never used one before?

try googling win7 key recovery, and win7 should set everything up for you, just connect ssd and set to ahci mode in the bios and install windows
