Installing Windows 7, over windows 8

I installed a trial version of Windows 8 on a fresh hard drive to see if I fancied it.

Turns out, I dont. However when I try to boot Windows 7 from USB, it fails at the 'Install Windows' screen.

My issue is, you cant format the hard drive that is currently using Windows 8, so I want to boot from USB to format the hard drive there, and install Windows 7.

7 seems to boot ok from USB, loads the setup screen but upon selecting 'Instal windows' it gives me an error stating

'A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you've a floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB please insert now.'

'No device drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers, then click ok.'

I get to this screen, and get the error after selecting install:

And this is the error that appears:

required-cd-dvd-driver-missing-windows-7-install.jpg

What would be causing this and why wont it continue with the install/format?

Cheers,
Paul

Just tried formatting the USB drive and putting the iso back on it using the Microsoft tool.

Still no joy. I'm really at a loss as to what to do. (PS, no dvd drive on the system im trying to install 7 onto)

Why can you not format the system and then install Windows 7 on to the system?

Would be so much easier im sure.

Have you set it in the BIOS to read from USB or did u just boot up with the USB drive in
place.
