If i install windows 7 upgrading from windows xp i belive you have to do a full install.

will i have to reinstall all my drivers?

yes. Win7 will automatically take care of them though...the only ones you should bother downloading and installing manually are the video drivers.

Booting from the DVD is always the best option, once you have backed up any data off C: of course. Quick format and install (both options from installing). Win7 comes with drivers of most hardware atm, mine all worked right away (P45 chipset), then you can dl everything else you need like up to date graphics drivers from ATI/nVidia. Try not to use Windows Update for drivers, go to the manufacturers website.
