Installing Windows 8, previously upgraded to 10, on a new machine

I've got a retail licence for Windows 8.1 Pro. I did previously install this on my old machine.

I've got a new machine that I want to reinstall 10 on. Am I going to need to install Windows 8.1 and then upgrade to 10 from that?

the latest ISOs of W10 should allow you to activate using your windows 8.1 key

I can confirm activating Windows 10 with a 7/8 key works for installs since November (with updated installation media from Media Creation Tool). I've installed Win 10 fresh on about 15 PCs at work using Windows 7 keys, one at home using a 7 key and another at home with an 8 key.

Updating from an already installed 7/8.1 still works too.
