Hi Guys

I've installed Ubuntu on my laptop although now I want to install Windows. Using the Ubuntu live CD I resized the /dev/hda1 partition then created a new partition (/dev/hda3) which is formatted NTFS. The problem is when I boot using the Windows installation CD it only sees one partition, the whole disk! It doesn't see the NTFS partition I created using GParted. There are loads of guides on the net but all of them show you Windows install then Ubuntu.

Help. :(

It may be due to the order of the partitions in the partition table, hda2 begins past the end of hda3, which probably royally confuses Windows. See if you can swap the names of hda2/hda3 in gparted (sorry, I'm not a gparted ninja myself).

After posting on the Ubuntu forums they have told me this could turn out real messy. I've decided to blitz it all and I'm now in the process of installing Windows, when it's finished, I'll then put on Ubuntu.
