Hi,

Im having some problems installing Windows Live Messenger on a relatives laptop. I have downloaded the messenger install file from microsoft however when I click on this a message appears saying that I am not connected to the internet. Giving the options to retry or cancel. There is definately an internet connection because I was able to download the file from microsoft and I can browse web pages.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be?

Thanks

real

How are you connected to the internet?

Have you rebooted all hardware that you have like modem/router/pc e.t.c?

Out of curiosity, is your Windows Update program working as well? Just asking as I had a similar problem as well as my windows update not working. Found a tech guide on the microsoft site which got the update working and also had the beneficial effect of letting me install Windows Live Messenger.

No chance of a link is there? I've got working updates, but no live installer :(
