Ok guys heres an intresting one thats goen on for a few weeks now. Parents PC died (got a virus and blue screened when you turned on)

So wipped C: and tryed installing XP (Had XP before) It wouldnt boot from CD just kept saying NTRDL not found! So happened to have my Win 7 disk on me and that worked:D So into win 7 and decided PC isnt upto win 7 and nothing works. Format again and try XP, still same error, but of reasearch on net and I make a boot USB drive (as no floppy)! Starts working, format C: and PC reboots and should boot into half windows where it carrys on installing, however nope it goes back to the part where you format C: and create partitions:confused: I have tryed taking boot USB out when it reboots and yet still goes back. Any ideas? Ive changed moby battery and that hasnt helped.

Cheers

ok

remove all hard drives and cd drives besides the main hd and main cd drive

in the bios set the first boot device as the cd drive, save changes and exit bios

insert xp disc, wait for the setup screen or the 'press any key to start setup' screen to appear.

if neither does, then the disc or ide cable or drive are knackered

It could be that your XP disc doesn't work, doing it that way (forcing it to boot first) will confirm whether or or not the XP disc works, I added the rest of the info as general troubleshooting help..

Install win 7 fine tho? I went there tonight and got into xp install scren where it start on 39 min remianing, got down to 37min remaining and then get blue screen and this

***STOP: 0X0000007E (0X80000003, 0X806F46DO, 0XF8985840, 0XF898553C)

Any ideas?
