Hi Folks,
My laptop has started to slow down and is full of rubbish so could do with a fresh install of windows. Its was bought second hand and came without any software etc.
It is install with windows 2000 Proffesional. I am just wondering what the best way to do this is. I have installed windows many times on desktops but always had drviers cds etc to go with the hardware. There is a sticker on the bottom with the windows 2000 serial key on it. is it possible to format the HDD, install a copy of windows 2000 pro onto it and the serial would work fine or does it need to be a specific version of windows 2000 pro?
Also, how do you go about getting all the drivers for the hardware? Are they available from the compnays website like they are for desktop pcs? The model of laptop is a compaq Evo N600c.
Thanks for any help
Matt
