Over the past 4 weeks i've had several blue screen crashes on my computer. Ive never been there when they happened but i go to the computer and theres no programs open but theres a message about how the computer recently recovered from a serious problem.

Since i havent changed anything over that time period i'm assuming its some kind of virus or the likes. I'm running microsoft security essentials on it at the moment but if it doesnt find anything im thinking i'll need to reformat.

Before i do so is there anything special i need to do since my operating system is on a ssd?

The computer is a pre-built from ocuk so i didnt install windows first time round so just basically wanted to check there was nothing extra i need to be aware of due to it being a ssd as opposed to a normal hdd.

Thanks

I think i have malware bytes already installed so ill give that a whirl.

I've got some updates that havnt been installed so ill also give that a try though its been fine up to now so didnt think it would be anything to do with them.

You could be right that a virus wouldnt cause a bsod, i suppose i just jumped to that conclusiob since the computer was fine and dandy and i havent changed anything.

Thanks for the help.

I looked up event viewer but all it seems to say is that the computer was rebooted from a bugcheck. Doesnt give me a whole lot more information.
