Hi

A friend has requested that install windows on their mac book pro, its the all white laptop with core 2 duo 2.16 GHz or something along this lines.

Just wondering any tips? what the best way to do this? do i have to use boot camp? where do i get drivers for for the apple hardware?

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just wanted to ask, if i wanted to install windows standalone, ie only windows what would i need to do? since i don't seem to have a bios i can access on the apple mac book pro.

I don't think it has the drivers on there, well not that i have found any but will keep looking.

Honestly i am struggling to close dialog box on this mac operating system, lol.

Thank for the help:)

You would have to run Bootcamp, this will allow you to boot off the Windows disc.

Now, when you boot off the Windows disc just delete the OS X partition and it'll be gone. Bare in mind though that you will lose everything and I certainly wouldn't recommend getting rid of OS X until you get used to it.

Not sure if you can browse the OS X disc from the Windows Explorer so you usually have to try put in the OS X install disc during the Windows install (when it asks for driver disc) and find out the hard way.

Hi

Does that mean that i have to ask for the OS X install CD from my friend? as i don't have it with me right now.

its strange that it ask for OS X CD during a windows install??

So, you can actually remove OS X on your hard drive from the Windows Installation disk, and when you finish installing it'll still boot fine into Windows? That's quite a useful tip, didn't know that!
