Installing windows with coa

Is it possible to use a COA from a label on the bottom of a laptop to install a new fresh copy of windows onto the laptop from original windows disks?

The coa label would have been put there by the manufacture of the laptop.

Im sure I have done it before, but im having doubts if it can actually be done.

Yes it is. I've done it many times. Use the correct version of Windows (obviously) and expect to activate via the Microsoft phone system.

if you use the windows disk that comes with the laptop it should be fine.
