Hey guys,

My company needs me to reinstall windows onto a till which has no internal cd/dvd drive. is it a simple case of just getting a usb cd drive plugging it in and then booting from the external cd drive?

or is there more involved?

Cheers

should work ok (if it can boot from usb cd), failing that, just open it up and connect one for the install

As said, it may work. How old is the till, and what make?

Any made in the last few years should have a BIOS option to boot from CD, but any older than that I wouldn't gaurantee it.

Its a Toshiba ST70 till not to sure on how old it is, probably no more than 3 years. i will bott up and see if i can see an option in the bios

Checked the boot options within the bios and it does have an option to boot from usb cd drive, so there hopefully wont be an issue
