Hey

I've just hit 70 on a couple of my chars so I thought I might as well download the WOTLK 10day trial and then pickup a retail copy tomorrow.

However when I run the installer it tells me I don't have enough room on my HDD. The thing is I want to install to my D: drive which does have the room, not my C: drive which only has a few GB and I'm sure is why I'm getting the error.

Is there anyway to tell it to install to the D: drive? It closes itself at the no-free-space error before I can change any settings/destination etc

Thanks

Wait, is the rest of World of Warcraft installed on your C or D drive ?

You can't install the expansion packs anywhere other then the World of Warcraft folder as far as I'm aware.

Try making room, or doing a fresh install of the game onto a drive that has plenty of space, because remember updates take up a fair amount of space.

When I set my Windows XP install up, I separated my Program Files to the D drive using a registry tweak. So all my games/programs (including WoW) are set to install on the D drive by default. This D drive has over 30GB of free space but it seems rather than the WoW installer installing to the D it was to install to the C drive which doesn't have the free space (or my current install of WoW).

I had this exact same problem.

There was a simple fix, but I can't remember what it was now. I'll let you know when I find it...

While I find the fix I used, try running the installer from your D: drive instead of from C:

Thanks Craig, tried that one already but glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem (and even happier to hear theres a fix :p)

Ah I fixed it! Had to regedit fix the location of my common files directory (something I should have done originally)!

Thanks for the help :)
