Hi

Just got x64 and i dont want to format my main drive until im 100% happy with it, so can i do the following?

Install a spare 40Gb IDE HDD and put windows x64 on it. If i dont install the raid drivers then am i mright in thinking it wont be able to see the SATA drives and just offer me the IDE drive to install to?

So you've spent £100 on something that you're not sure if you really want?

You can install it on the 40GB IDE drive no problems. Just make sure you select the right drive in the setup program at the start. You can load your RAID drivers (and you will need to) using the F6 option when setup is loading.

The wife got it for me, she asked for the 'latest version' and thats what she got!

If i find im happy with it then i will stick it on as my main OS
