Can someone please link to the files needed and also how to disable driver signing in Vista x64 as I thought the bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS command no longer worked.

Thanks.

im fairly sure its impossible, only way i know of doing it is going into the F8 menu every time you boot up and turning it off.

I don't think you can do it. I got error upon error when i tried, mostly to do with the unsigned drivers.

Now i just use the default drivers and Xpadder to get everything working. Works fine for me tbh.

Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider

NGOHQ.com posted version 1.0 of their Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider

Microsoft did well bringing the 64-bit architecture to Windows Vista but somehow they screwed up. Apparently they forgot who their target audience was when they introduced a very restricted module of driver signature enforcement. In laymen's terms, all drivers and system files must be digitally verified or they cannot run when using the 64-bit version of Vista. In the past it was possible to turn that feature off; but due to new kernel security updates it is impossible to turn it off without degrading security and stability of your operating system.

In order to turn this off it involves uninstalling critical security updates that Microsoft has released to increase system security. Sadly, this feature makes Windows Vista 64-bit into a closed and locked down operation system.

So what's the problem with digital certificates? Well, the problem is. developers have to pay Microsoft to receive verified certificates, and that makes many applications inaccessible under Windows Vista 64-bit. This driver signature enforcement can be a serious pain to end-users; however it is still possible to turn it off by disabling it up by pressing the F8 function key during system boot up.

Pressing F8 every time on boot up can be a serious pain in the ass and frustrating to those that miss the time window available to press F8 during start up. Others have found workarounds, but most of them are too complicated for the average end user to perform, atleast until now.

Not sure, only played GTA3 + GTA: Vice City.

I'm using wireless + adapter if that makes any difference to force feedback, not really bothered.

MANY MANY THANKS

A great app. I now have force feedback on my 360 pad in Vista x64 :)
Hey, would you mind posting how exactly you got it working with this tool. I gave it a try but can't seem to egt it working, it won't let me install any driver other than the microsoft one. I've signed the files xbcd.sys and xbcd.inf. Anything else i need to do?

Cheers.

*bump*

I too would be interested to know how to get this working. Would like to have rumble support on TDU and the Simbin titles.
Even struggling to get it working on XP now. Reinstalled XP yesterday and it will not let me change the driver. The only compatible device is always the proper driver. If I point it at the xbcd.inf, it says that the file does not contain any info about your hardware message.....
I've had this working before, has anything changed? This is with xbcd360 v0.25 and SP2.

I run the XBCD v.025 installer, goto device manager and find the xbox controller, go to update the driver, tell it not to search, tell it I want to specify a driver but the only driver to appear is the genuine MS one. Doesn't matter if I untick the signed drivers box or not, the xbcd driver does not appear. I've had it working in the past in XP and Vista 64. Thing is you can't disable driver signing anymore in Vista so I've gone back to XP as I want rumble in racing games other than Games for Windows branded ones.

Have you tried:

Device Manager> Controller> Driver> Update Driver> Browse My Computer For Driver Software> Untick "Show Compatible Hardware"> Click "Have Disk"> Specify the XBCD driver.

Whenever i try that following those exact steps i end up with an error because the driver is not digitally signed.

The same thing happened to me, I tried several variations, and got differing errors each time. Its most probably the wrong inf file. The guy who made it packaged it with the wrong one. I think i got the correct inf and sys from the XBCD forum. When I searched for the XBCD.inf it did then recognise the drivers, I installed it but then it came up with an error "not compatible with your .....etc" thats when I gave up. I can give you more details if you wish, but I wouldnt recommend them.

It wouldnt because I dont what your Usb device Id is. I cant find the updated inf , but if you want to do it yourself its quite easy.

If you have the standard xbox drivers installed, then you need to go into Device Manager and then to the properties of the XBox 360 controller. Then go into Details and you should see Device Instance Id, mine is USB\VID_045E&PID_28E\1A068FD you need to add the USB\VID_045E&PID_28E only part into the XBCD.inf as the other entries appear.

Then when you go to update drivers, have disc, find the drivers etc. XBCD should in theory appear as a choice.

Seems like there's a fair few dodgy inf's knocking about. I managed to find one that works just fine using the exact same method as failed for me using another download.

I now get rumble in TDU, NFS, Simbin etc.... in XP.

not tried the NGO x64 method yet.
