Sometimes. XPSp2 has a few sata drivers built into the install, however not all. You just need to grab the drivers off your motherboards site and stick them on a floppy. Press F6 near the start of the xp install and that will let you install the sata driver
Edit: just reread your post, Thought you where just talking about installing on a sata drive. No idea about the DVD, assume that bit is fine
The problem as I see it - if I need to load sata drivers from a floppy by pressing F6, how do I get to that point? Surely if it needs the sata drivers off a floppy, it won't be able to read from the DVD drive in the first place.
Mine certainly doesnt need any drivers, it just works in the same way an ide dvd drive works. If they needed drivers from a floppy to function, then it'd be a complete waste of time.
