Installing XP on a SCSI Controller

I am trying to install XP on a Dell PC but having trouble installing it because the set up wont find the hard disk, I dont have a floppy disk drive in the machine to "F6 and install third party drivers" and I cant slipstream using nLite because this Dell PC wont allow me to boot from CD, and it is set to Boot from CD in the BIOS. :confused:

A number of Dell PC's are like this, do Dell stop you from doing this?

What can I do?

is the disc bootable in other machines?

try pressing F12 or F11 at startup to choose the CD

You could attach a USB floppy drive or get hold of one of those USB memory sticks that can emulate a floppy for the older BIOS.

You might even find an old floppy disk header on the motherboard and be able to borrow a floppy from another machine.

Older BIOS wouldn't recognise USB at bootup I wouldn't think...might be wrong.

Try a different optical drive.
