Hi Peeps,

I'm about to order (two) new systems for a mate + his G/F. It looks like they'll be using the ABit IP35. I've not installed XP onto a SATA drive before and I've heard horror stories about it.

So, what do I have to do?

Will the motherboard just come with a floppy disk that I can use after hammer F6 at the start of the install?
Will the F6 work with a slip-streamed XP image? (Heard problems here too)
Is it best for me to attempt to slip stream the image onto an XP CD before hand? If so, where can I grab the files?

Thanks in advance.

you'll have the choice of running the SATA controller in 3 ways:
IDE emulation - single drives, needs no drivers F6 drivers
RAID - self explanatory & needs F6 drivers on XP
AHCI - this needs F6 drivers on XP & allows for features like hot-plugging, NCQ etc.
imo if running single drives on a desktop AHCI isn't worth the effort.
