Installing XP onto Netbook from SD card?

SD card is unlikely to work - they usually need drivers to run. USB flash drives don't because most modern BIOS's have the drivers built in.

Not that I know of, most BIOSes won't boot from SDcard and even if you boot off CD/DVD it unlikely you could get any USB drives to work with the SD card reader - I don't know of any that would.

USB pen drive is another matter, plenty of ways of doing it from one of them.

I would get a SanDisk MicroMate, a USB SD card reader. Mine came with my 8GB SD card last year. I've installed Windows XP and Windows 7 from the SD card using it. It's just like using a standard USB flash drive. I last used it last week; I installed Windows 7 on a five-year old laptop which doesn't have a CD drive, so it should boot on pretty much any modern machine.

I used WinSetupFromUSB to make the SD card bootable, and to copy across the Windows XP setup files from the CD.

You can boot Asus from SD card no problems, I've done it to install varios distros and XP. It tells you ho to do it via the manual plus they are plenty of guides over the net.
