Installing XP Pro on a machine with Vista HP?

Hi,
I have a new pc with Vista HP installed, it is running slow and tbh I am fed up with it. I want to install XP Pro on a separate HDD to use until SP1 is released officially for Vista. How do I do it and will it automatically offer the boot os?

This is merely a suggestion, but would it not be less hassle in the long run to just get your Vista installation sorted? There's no real reason for it to be running slow, so perhaps it's worth doing a clean install (without any pre-installed junk that the PC might have come with), with the latest drivers and updates.

I did think about that, might do it. I don't understand why it would run so sluggishly as it is a decent spec quadcore 2.66 Q667, 4gb ram, 6800 nforce motherboard system.
