I have a copy of xp2 i need to fix an oldish pc with , im having problems with the floppy its not detected so i need to go down the root of booting from a usb drive is there any basic setup.exe packages that will format the pc so i can have access to a command prompt to run the setup.exe file from the xp cd , have tried lookin around but just not gettin anywhere as i only have found files that will only work by physically having a floppy in the a drive to wrire the data too

if someone has a floppy drive and could perhaps upload an extracted win98 /me boot cd that would be great

the pc will not boot from cd at all which is weird as i booted from cd to install my os on my pc

any help is appreciated thanks

make sure the disc is bootable
make sure the first device in the bios is set to cd/dvd

if it doesn't work, then replace the dvd drive

much easier than going down the xp from usb route

yasssss

nice 1 i gave bootdisk.com a shot but the floppy was borked soo i cudnt write directly to the disk and have been on a wild goose hunt for weeks

tried replacin the dvd drive with a newer one but it wont boot from cd so all just copy the files onto the bootable usb drive and plain sailin from there
