Hey all
Apologies for not researching this myself but for the past year I've been too busy to keep up with the pc arms race and have lost track!

Im going to update my cpu/mobo/ram and HDD's as I can virtually break even on the sale of my current components and would like a faster pc for the newer games.
My windows installer disk is an original SP1 jobby with no support for sata I believe?
I junked my FDD so can't make a floppy boot disk.

Can I save SP2+3 and all updates onto current XP disk or create a new one?
Is there another way to load XP onto a sata hdd?
(my current eide disks are'nt a problem but I see most new mobos only have one eide port for optical drives so i might as well get new sata hdd's)

Thanks
Mike

Copy the CD contents to a directory.
servicepack.exe /integrate:C:\PathToCDFiles
Re-burn the CD (make sure to replace the boot sector!)
Here's a more detailed guide. You'll probably want to use SP3, though.
Also remember that SPs are cumulative, so installing SP1,SP2,SP3 in order is the same as just installing SP3. You can skip SP2 when integrating.
If it's XP Home rather than Pro, you can apply a few tweaks to turn Home into "Pro Lite". Google will provide the answers if that's of interest. :)
