Hi, I'm trying to get an old laptop running but not having much success. It's a Fujitsu siemens lifebook B series without a CD drive. Ive tried using an external drive but with no luck, I dont think the drive is bootable ?

I heard somewhere that you can format a hard drive and install DOD (?) files and setup files from the windows disk to create a bootable HDD that will install windows from itself on startup. Is this possible and how can I do it ?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm trying to install XP.
