installing XP

my tesco laptop with basic vista is slow and not secure
the ram is 512

i have a disc for XP and the numbers to go with it
its not SP2 though as i got it in 2002 with my pc

can i install xp from this disc onto the laptop and do i really need SP3..and how

yuo will need the key/serial from the 2002 pc and yes you can auto update on to sp3 through ms downloads

you will need at least sp2 for a lot of security issues but as above you can download sp3
