InstallShield Catastrophic failure installing LG software

I am trying to install the LG OnScreen Control for my monitor, however during the install it fails with the error:

Feature: OnScreen Control
Component:
File:
Error: Catastrophic failure

The installer then quits out.

I have tried running it in compatibility mode, as administrator. There are no updates waiting to be installed on my Windows 10 machine.

Sadly Google is not being much help trying to hunt down the error.

Anyone have any suggestions?

This happens because you have "controlled folder access" activated under your windows settings. Deactivate it briefly to finish the installation.

Thanks for the reply, but not sure if that was the issue, as I just reinstalled windows and it worked
 
Well, I believe that "controlled folder access" is turned off by default, so it was probably turned off after the reinstallation.
