I recently built a PC around March/April, everything went smoothly, installed Vista 64bit with no problems whatsoever and away I went.

Until I started installing games, anything to do with InstallShield Wizard slows my PC down to a crawl, using up to 98% physical memory which means I have to go downstairs for about an hour while it installs.

I narrowed the problem down to ASUS AI Suite, uninstalled the program and installs were going fine again.

However, I've reformatted and left out installing any ASUS software but the problem has come up again, only now I have no idea what is causing it.

Any ideas? Specs are as follows; http://xs229.xs.to/xs229/08290/details781.jpg

Help is appreciated, thank-you <3

Is it just installing things that is slow, or is it any other windows operation?

I would be looking to the speed of your CD drives tbh, possibly hard disk if boot and video are slow too.

Thank you for the reply, yes it's just when installing things. Every other window operation is fine, or at least unnoticeable.

I thought of that, tried to bypass using my CD Drive by making an .iso out of the CD and using PowerISO (sorry if this is illegal), but the problem still occurs.

System boots up fine, everything is fine apart from installs. I'm thinking faulty RAM but have yet to do a memtest. This would be a last resort as I honestly don't think it could be my RAM.

Any other ideas?
