Instally Catalyst drivers without Control Centre

If I install the latest catalyst drivers (6.5) without the control centre, but just the classic control panel, will I still get the 2D/3D modes with the Radeon X1900? Apart from overclocking, does anything explicitly depend on the control centre?

Any help would be appreciated! :)

I believe the X series of cards require the CCC for all the options to work, specifically the Avivo thingy and any fancy AA/AF methods.

Installing the old CP will give you basic functions, but you could also install ATi Tray Tools I'd guess that would work.

So would ATI Tray Tools do everything CCC does?

Is it possible to install CCC later on when you need the extra features?

Thanks for the replies!

Use the Omega drivers of Cat 6.5, they have a updated ATT for X1900s.

Works a treat for me.

Do they have any incompatibilites/issues with games? (sorry its been a long time since I used the omega drivers :o )

No, they are better than the ATI released ones as they are tweaked for IQ and performance for games not for 3D mark ;)

Yup, I think Ati tray tools comes on the Omega download.
You can make it show the temperatures of the card aswell in the corner which is good.
