Let's hope you can use your currently owned music, I am not going to buy any songs that I already own just to play this game.

I always know these games are going to be a massive fail when I see "Use your own music collection" That just means it will be randomly created and boring. The reason GH and Rock Band are good is because the tracks are designed to be fun to play.

Might as well just play Frets on Fire if you want a PC GH alike, not as good but there are some good fan made tracks around.

agreed. there was a game recently called rhythm zone that was hopeless at mapping out 80% of songs.

i thought audiosurf worked really well though...

Actually, it isn't an algorithm. You have to own any or all of the 2000 songs the game supports at launch, all of which have been mapped by a developer.

"Using your music" just means you have to have bought the songs previously to play them (or buy them) from what I can tell.

Not really that interested, might be worth a peak when it launches though.

I wonder how good the 2000 mapped songs are, something tells me with that many that they can't have spent much time on each.

To the above, Rock Band has MUCH much more than 2000.

Except GH isn't a good game. The mappings and mechanics are horrible.

Pretty sure in that video they proclaim that 2000 songs is more tunes than every guitar hero and every rock band game combined have. Might have missheard though.

Needs a facebook account to play. I presume it will be "free" in the same way that new FIFA game on Facebook is free. Riddled with ads too and will steal all your info to bombard you with gay marketing.

While it's probably not far off, I'm pretty sure all of the Rock Band DLC and disks put together don't total more than 2000. Even if you include all of the RBN stuff.

Frets on fire is decent with the gh3 mod which makes it look identical to gh3. Might see if my ps2 guitar will work when my new ps2 to pc adaptor arrives in a few days. As g11 isnt great for the usual f1-5 keys to strum like my old kb due to the large plastic edging on the g11.
