Instant messaging

Hi there

i was wondering what IM clients work with a googlemail email.
I would try windows live messenger, but for some reason it crash's when i log in.

Are there any alternatives?

Not sure what you mean, but Pidgin supports Gmail instant messaging as far as I know. It might support checking emails as well.

I use my googlemail email address as login for Windows Live. Never truly figured how that all works. But I can IM people which is the most important thing

Yeah i normally use windows live, but it always crash's when i attempt to log in now, so was just wondering if there were any alternatives

Ah I figured you thought it was crashing because you used a gmail account. My mistake.
