Anybody fitted one recently or got a recommendation? I need one with a U value of around 0.5, I'm currently looking at the Fakro LWT Energy Efficient 3 piece wooden ladder and the Dolle clickFIX® 76G both appear to be almost identical specs but the Dolle is 45% cheaper delivered.

wow that loft ladder is expensive Cant you just buy a normal loft ladder and then fit one of these the U value is 0.35 for it https://manthorpebp.co.uk/loft-access/drop-down-loft-doors/loft-access-door-60mm-pu and you can get a 0.15 if if you can fit the extra insulation material. I have just the standard 50mm expanded polystyrene in mine and its done a great job of sealing up the loft and stopping drafts compared to the old chip board one i had.

I've got the GL250 loft hatch, like the post above says make sure to get the PU model, most of them for sale come with expanded polystyrene instead denoted by 'XPS' on the model code which is inferior less insulated and damaged easily.

It's a good loft hatch 12 points of locking so keeps draughts out, I went around the lip of it on the loft side with a thick bead of silicone to be doubly sure and prevents that groove from collecting dust.

That was the original plan but I had the carpenters frame up the attic opening 1200*600 to allow for a cased ladder if required, turns out this size is unavailable in premade insulated doors which I overlooked, messaged a few companies that do custom doors and they were as expensive as a cased ladder.

I know I could make the opening smaller but it would involve making good the flooring in the attic and would bug me, the Dolle one I've found on their Amazon store for £250 delivered which seems quite reasonable.
