However the issue is even worse now, the boiler now loses pressure within minutes which means we have no hot water or heating. The management company of our flats advised getting back in touch with AXA, who have since advised us that we'll need to make a new claim. My issue though; is that AXA have said the original settlement figure was actually £41,670. So there is a difference of circa £16,070. Has the middle man skimmed it? I don't know what to do, do I call him out and ask to explain the difference?
You've been left with a house that is worse off than before they started. If the "middle man" company was trustworthy, then they should come back in and actually fix the issue without charging you any extra. However, since they've already taken you for a ride (and what a long ride!) I would get in touch with Citizen's Advice to explore your options (https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/c...ovements-done/problem-with-home-improvements/)
If the "middle man" do offer to come back in and fix it, then get them to quote up front. They should offer to sort it out without charging extra, but I doubt they will based on your original post. Before accepting the quote, go back to Citizen's Advice and explore your options again.
