Alright guys and gals.

So I kinda knocked a can of beer down the back of my old gaming rig last night (7 Years old roughly) and have contacted the insurance company today.

They are sending an inspector out to strip it out and find out what parts are in there.

The build is as follows :

ASUS AI Lifestyle P5E Deluxe
Intel core duo quad core 2.4ghz Q6600
X2 ATI Radeon HD4850 in crossfire
4GB Ram
750w Modular PSU
120GB Samsund SSD.

So the guy on the phone has said they will likely check it out and offer me the modern day equivalent of my old build or the monetary value if I'm not happy with what they offer me.

I guess my question is what is the modern day equivalent of my above build so I know what to expect when they offer it me.

Thanks in advance :)

My PC is over ten years can you come knock some beer over it too. If this just falls under contents insurance result if they give you a modern system. Lets face it my own it must be near worth nothing although yours must have been a great system in its day.

Good luck with it all.

Curious to see what they offer you.

I was always under the impression they'll only look at the equivalent spec, so here they'll need to find a core duo quad, which they'll struggle with. Second hand one i found on the bay is going for around £15.

The graphics card i think they'll really struggle to find a new equivalent model. Even looking at second hand on the bay they're around the £30 mark.

The RAM and PSU you've been too vague on, i may assume these are unbranded models.

Is the SSD salvageable? As it's in a sealed case it may not have had any contact with the liquid.

I wouldn't pin your hopes on getting much of a figure from the insurance payout.
