Involved in a no fault incident.

Got a call from the 3rd parties insurer offering to sort everything out, as obviously it's cheaper for them than if my insurers do it (who have already started).

I dislike my insurers, and the 3rd party insurers offer to take over the repairs, and send a courtesy bike as oppose to a credit hire bike is tempting.

I figure that things will get sorted more quickly this way, as obviously they'll be accepting that their guy is to blame.

Has anyone had this happen to them before?

Any potential pitfalls?

how much percentage do they take from your final payout? chances are its more than your propper insurers

Confused.

My insures don't take anything out of my payout. Their costs are paid by the third party.

The third party insurers obviously save a bit a cash by approaching me direct, as they won't have to pay my insurers for on going admin, vehicle hire.

idk much about it,any claims ive made have been with my original insurers,if they dont take commission from your settlement, money for injuries/loss of earnings then great,i know they claim from the other person im just not sure how it all works, you know how shady insurance firms are

Yeah, it's an odd one.

Bike was parked up. Guy reverses into it. Witnesses saw it.

it seems to me that his insurers are accepting 100% liability and are trying to cut their costs.

I just want to make to sure I don't get screwed. My insurers are the worst i've worst i've dealt with (carole nash), so it's tempting. When i reported the incident to them they told me to call back tomorrow. I offered them a police incident number they didn't want it, only accepted it on me insisting.

I'd always use the third parties insurance rather than going through my own. Claiming for a non-fault through your own insurance gives you nothing but disadvantages (e.g. NCB reduced and fault claim on your record until they get their money back from third party insurers).

Called my insurers to ask about it. They are happy for me to do whatever I want, so i've gone with the 3rd party insurers for the courtesy vehicle and repairs. They've admitted full liability.

Now i just need to prove to them that my bike is one of only 6 known of in the UK (possibly the world) and so is worth more than others of the same year/mileage.
