Hey guys, had a quick search, but i could only find questions on car insurance.

I recently checked my home insurance, and it states it doesnt cover any one item over £1500, which counts out my PC (unless I can convince them each of the bits are seperate items!) I was wondering how people here deal with insuring their PC, is there a special policy to cover it, or get home contents insurance with a higher limit, or do you mostly not bother?

Cheers.

I count mine as seperate items as that is what I purchased it as, I have kept the reciepts to prove it if they ever get silly with me.

Cool, I thought that would be the most obvious solution, but you know how picky some of these companies can be, especially if you end up dealing with someone 'technically challenged' - "What do you mean a computer is made of a load of bits?"

Lucky I kept all my btis of paper then I guess!

Hate to say it guys but if its a fire that takes out your PC then those bits of paper are likely to be gone too.

Your household insurance should let you add specific items that are over the £1500 mark. You normally have to pay slightly more. Just phone them up and ask.
