Insurance for photo gear abroad

Me & the other half are off to egypt next week, having never had a grand's worth of camera gear until recently I've never had to worry about insurance.

We'll be scuba diving and can get insurance quite cheaply to cover that but they only offer £250 per item of personal belongings.

Our home insurance is with Halifax & having just checked the policy it only covers us in the UK.

Any pointers?

These people offer £1500 individual item insurance and cover you abroad providing you are not out of the country for more than 45 consecutive days

I've not personally used either company BTW so don't blame me if you lose/drop something and it takes 7 years to get any money back.

Edited - sorry didnt read the post properly!

I'd look at getting a better home insurance policy - ours covered me for 2k's worth of stuff outside the home and UK and I upped it recently to 5k for an extra couple of quid a month.
