I just had a thought, i've been given a 4x4 off roader which I plan on putting through it's MOT, taxing and then selling. I dont have any intention of driving it.

But thinking back to get tax doesnt it ask for insurance and MOT certificates?
How are you meant to get tax if it's not insured. Clearly I dont wish to waste money insuring a car I simply wish to sell, and not drive.

If you are getting it MOT'd then it'll be the new sort, so can do it online, surely this circumvents the insurance cover note thing?

edit: just checked they look up on their database, nm

Good point, maybe I just shouldnt bother taxing it at all. Does mean it needs to sit on my drive though which doesnt have room right now

If it doesn't have tax, it shouldn't be on a public road, it should also be declared SORN.

I believe it is declared SORN right now. It was in someones personal land until I had a mechanic pick it up on a flatbed truck for it's MOT

Once it's got that i'll just get it back to my house until it goes for sale
