Just had my renewal from Norwich Union and its gone up from £476.98 to £563.92. Had a look on confused.com and Norwich Union came back second cheapest at £408.00 only difference being no Courtesy car cover???

This is first time ever I've had such an increase for the same car. Anything stopping me getting this through Confused.com?

No but insurers are a bit stupid. They insured me on a Turbo car with like 240hp for a cheap price, once I told them to correct it to the standard car it was they upped the price lol??? and keep sending price increasments.

To me, it just looks like they are trying to get money off you how they can. You can go through confused or ring norwhich and tell them? Then again they might take the offer down then lol

They'll just keep increasing it cos they think you won't bother going elsewhere. Must make them a fortune every year. I'd go with the cheaper one. If you're in an accident that's not your fault, you can claim a courtesy car anyway and claim it back of the other persons insurance. Only problem arises if a) they're not insured or b) the accident is your fault.

NEVER just take the renewal price. Insurers put this price to you in the hope that you will just accept it (a lot of people do!).

Look in the sticky and there's a list of insurers, ring these up and compare the prices, go back to your insurer and let them know your lowest price, they might match it :)

EDIT - Oh and confused.com is USELESS! Very overpriced compared to going to the insurer direct yourself. :)

How about you goto Norwich Union's site and do the on-line insurance thing (if the have one) or add a courtesy car on the confused quote or phone them up or go with someone else.

personally i'd ring the current insurer and tell them that you have a guaranteed quote from xx and if they can't match it you're cancelling. They may say they can't but they might just match it and save you the hassle of moving. Don't just accept it though, that's how they get away with it. TripleT's right, it's unbelievable how many people just accept it.

right ive just bought a mazda 3 2.0 Sport and im currently driving a c3 1.4 desire guesss what the mazda is cheaper in insure crazy or what

Just come off the phone from NU and they advised me to cancel my current policy when it finishes and then buy a new policy from the website at the new price (£408.00) so a total saving of £155.00 for the exact same cover. He couldn't give me a logical reason only that they do this to encourage people to buy from the website????? eh?? Anyway I'm happy.

You not even going to try any other companies? I'd strongly suggest that you do :)

Very sure that you good save even more.

How true is this *shakes head* and when you ring them they take the pee one five five! One guy said I owe £500, after a bit of talk he said oh we can reduce it to £30....lol I said whats this another "premimum" or "change" charge, they say blah blah -.-

I usually find confused.com is confused. This is because whenever you still the cars details in, it always returns lower spec'd cars thus giving you cheaper insurance quotes. Then once you try and follow them through... bang... that ain't the car i am trying to insure!
