Insurance tips

Your tips need something along the lines of the following:

# If you crash, run away then phone the police and say your car was stolen!

Pretty rubbish tips, who do you insure with? maybe someone from that company reads this forum :)

More good advice just in:

Fit crossply tyres to your Ferrari Enzo to raise the ride height

Mix your fuel 1 part petrol 1 part diesel for extra torque and MPG

V8 too thirsty? Simply pull the leads off 4 cylinders.

Don't forget to check things like whether it's cheaper keeping it in a garage or on the driveway since this could affect the price.

For students, saying you study part time instead of full time knocks a lot off, so mention a part time job as your primary occupation.

Pay annually instead of monthly to prevent paying interest - a loan from the bank would be a cheaper option wouldn't it?

I accepted my renewal. They were miles cheaper than anyone else, and were the only people to even quote me non idiotic money (sub 1k) on my MX5 :p

Don't forget to tell the insurer that you have reduced the cars weight (therefore increasing braking power and lowering fuel usage) by folding the rear seats down.

Don't they ask estimated annual milage? My estimated milage is less than 3000, will I really get penalised for going over?

IF you are within a couple of thousand miles of your estimated annual mileage then no, it is only an estimation. If you are significantly over then this would hinder your claim.

never accept a renewal price, even if you want to stay with your current insurer ring up and cancel, nearer the date make a new quote and you'll get a cheaper price.

Unless you can't beat it. I couldn't get within £100 of my last automatic renewal.
