Hi all,

Im currently insured with Tesco and my policy is up in june, im changing my car in march can I just amend my policy for new car and they adjust the premium (so I dont lose my NCD) or do I have to start again?

They should be able to adjust the policy for you for a fee and you'll pay the difference for the remaing months.

jst phone them up when you change the car, they will do a "Mid Term Change" and you will not loose the NCD.

Obviously at renewal in June, phone around and make sure they are still good value. It also might be worhwhile phoning up your current insurers and saying you want a quote on a prospective change of car. If they are too expensive you might want to wait until june for the change of car, and change your insurers at the same time.

As olv says, you will need to pay any increased premioum + admin charges

Even if you had to start a new policy you would not loose your ncd since you can move it arround diff insurance company's.

Phone them up tell them your changing car and want the insurance to start from when you collect it x date i usually have it start the day before to make 100% sure the car is insured, then you will just pay the diff in premium or they will give you some money back if its cheaper.
