Hi guys, I passed my test last month and am now thinking of getting a car since I've got a bit more money :D So what I wanted to ask was what would insurance be like on a "97 Fiesta 1.3 Encore 3dr" I'll be 19 at the end of the month havn't done Pass Plus.

a) It has the awful, horrible, nasty Endura 1.3 engine. It's unrefined, its noisy, and its about as powerful as a small hamster. Who died.
b) It is an Encore. This is absolute bottom of the range. You get horrible black plastic bumpers which fade to an annoying grey colour, you get stupid handles to wind the windows up with, you don't get any kit whatsoever. It's rubbish.

Is there any way to get insurance quotes without Vreg numbers? Since I don't really have any to go on. Also yeh I was looking at some Zetecs look really Nice
 
Thanks guys for the quick responses also is there any other good places to search for cars other than eBay and Autotrader? since there isn't too many Zetecs infact theres like 2 in my price range :D
 
Whats some good Online companies to try then cause I was going to look at the autotrader ones but really I wanna know what decent ones other people know :D not something they will get commision on :D
 
Well I just done a online quote on the autotrader on a 1.25 Ghia 1996 (N) and the highest insurance I got was "£4564.40" the lowest "£2635.72" Fully comp so bit to expensive there any ideas where to look now? :D
 
Well thing is my mother wants me to go Full comp, Also how about putting a parent on insurance is that a good idea?
 
Well thats cool I'll do that I took my mum off and it knocked 300 off my online insurance on tesco :S, Also guys are all Zetecs 16V?
 
Well yeah I have my mum to go under she has 17 years no claims, I keep getting high quotes online which is a shame admiral gave me a 1539.87 quote on a 98 Zetec Since I couldn't choose the year I wanted which was 1996. That was Third party fire and theft with 10 months Accelerator even with the pass plus I got the same results which is weird.
 
I wouldn't go under my mums as a named driver mate :D I wanna get my self no claims bonuses I noticed how much the insurance changed once I put it from 87 to 86 on tesco I might just wait till friday when I'm 19 and check on Admiral since that gave me a lower quote then tesco. My mum, was saying that a Ghia will give me a high insurance then a Zetec anyone think It would be that much higher?
 
Well I've found a Ghia for £895 :D and got a quote on insurance for £13xx so not bad that was TPFT the Ghia is 96 1.25 so hopefully if the milage ain't way too high might go view it.
