Soldato
Just had a couple of profitable phone calls, the first of which was from my previous insurers, Tesco and the second of which was to my current insurers, Virgin. To cut a long story short, back in November my previous car was written off due to a drunken bint smashing into the back of my parked car and then driving off. I eventually managed to get the registration number of the car and gave it to my insurers and the police who said they would investigate. Last I had heard in December was that the woman was denying the incident ever occured and that she had smashed her car up elsewhere in a unrelated incident.
I'd since forgotten about this as I've not heard anything in 4 months, but today I get a phone call from Tesco advising me that the bint's insurers are admitting liability and as such are covering the claim That means that I'm now awaiting a cheque for £425 to cover the excess that was deducted from my payout
Having done a little jig, I then realised that this means when I renewed my insurance this month, it was with now incorrect details. I had described the incident as "Unknown third party hit me - claim made"; well that was no longer the case and should be "No claim made" as it has now been covered by the other parties insurers. I rang my new insurers, Virgin, with this info and they agreed to amend the policy in light of this. The net result being they are now going to refund me £160!
So yeah, both insurance companies have come up with the goods and I'm now £600 richer as the result
